The staff organise various special event days/charity events throughout the year where the whole of the nursery gets involved including the management and staff by dressing up in costumes with the children. We give prizes for the best costume or at Easter for the best Easter bonnet.

We celebrate various festivals such as Saint Patrick’s Day, Saint George’s Day, Easter, Diwali, Eid and Christmas, we also have our own themed event days such as Australia Day, China Day, India Day etc. We have special role play days such as Snow White Day, Pirates of the Caribbean Day and Peter Pan Day to name just a few where we all dress as our favourite characters. Not only do we dress up for the whole day, but the food is themed throughout the day together with lots of creative opportunities, dancing and musical activities relating to the subject.

On Australia Day we turned our outdoor area into a beach for the day. On May Day we had maypole dancing and explored lots of different senses with a variety of perfumed flowers. We even had our own May Queen and King! And held a procession around the nursery.

At Christmas we produce our own Nativity Play where children from pre-school perform the Christmas Story with songs, actions and dialogue to parents and friends. The staff also feature in the play to encourage the children to perform and to give them confidence.
