13th February 2018

Dear Parents/ Carers

Chinese New Year
Just a quick reminder about our event day on Friday (16th February) where we will be celebrating Chinese New Year. We would like the children to enjoy the day of activities by dressing in Chinese clothing, red/ gold clothing, or as it is the year of the dog maybe some little doggies. The staff put a lot of effort into the event days, dressing the nursery and themselves to support the event and they really enjoy seeing the children make the most of the activities and taking part in the day. Just a few of the activities will be making lucky money pockets, decorating a Chinese dragon to take part in a parade and trying Chinese cuisines.

Shrove Tuesday
Today the children will be taking part in Shrove Tuesday by tasting various pancakes at snack times along with taking part in pancake obstacle courses to help develop their gross motor skills.

Our Blossom Tree
We would like to see a few more leaves filling our blossom tree with activity ideas, thank you to all the parents and children who have contributed so far we love hearing your feedback.

Baby Unit Outside Play
The babies can now enjoy more outside play under a new lovely wooden shelter, even when it is raining. The outside area is going to be developed to a similar theme as the main nursery bottom garden area, with a focus of large sand, water and block play with lots of den building.

Collecting from the Tweenies Room
If you have a child in the Tweenies' Room you must go into the room on collection to get feedback notes from the staff. Please do not stand outside in the corridor as this can make it difficult for other parents and staff that are trying to answer the door.

Dad's Week
We will be sending out the confirmation slips with the days you have been allocated in the next few days, these events take a lot of organising to ensure staff are deployed appropriately to maintain ratios. If you have not yet returned your slip please contact the office today.

Kind Regards

Helen Poyser
Managing Director

Toddlers have a water play area now within their room to support continuous provision. This is another exciting area for the children to play and explore with water, whilst giving them the opportunity to become 'experts'.

Each group has explored lots of fantastic opportunities today outside. Baby unit went over to the green area and collected leaves and twigs to add to their tactile. They then further enhanced their provision by following through with a creative activity. Tweenies got messy as they painted using different tools, whilst other children walked along the stones listening to the sound their feet were making. Toddlers challeged their children to take risks as they balanced along the wooden plank. They created a wet sand tactile, whereby the children generated ideas and made marks. PreSchool encouraged the children to use their imaginations as they built castles, and used the space around them to role play. They also prompted the children to recall by drawing their own ideas. What a lovely day, full of quality activities and plenty of learning opportunities!

What Parents Say

  • Sonia

May I take this opportunity to thank you and your team for the excellent care that you have provided for both our children. Your ethos and drive to always do better is commendable and rarely found! We would never have any hesitation in recommending La Petite to others and so it with some sadness that we say goodbye.

    Sonia

  • Clare & Peter

We wanted to say a sincere “thank you” to all the staff of La Petite, who have worked TIRELESSLEY for yet another year, to care for, nurture and help develop our Gracie. Some would argue this is the nursery’s “job”, but we know you all go the extra mile, and really do put your hearts and souls into the children you are so entrusted with. Gracie absolutely LOVES being in pre-school and is a happy little girl who is “developing” well – and this is in NO small part, because of the staff at La Petite . When Gracie is happy, we are happy!

  • Novine

Armaan has come a long way from when he first started at nursery and that’s thanks to all the great staff here!

So glad we came to La Petite Academy!

  • Nicola, Pete & Charlie

Just wanted to say thank you to La Petite and all the ladies that have worked with Charlie over the last four years.

It was a comfort to knowing we could go to work and know that he was in safe hands.

We would definitely recommend you, and use you again in the future – who knows, lol!!

I would just like to point out that over the years the nursery has gone from strength to strength. I applaud Elena’s professionalism and she is a real asset to your team. Thank you also goes out to Helen and yourself Andrea, for showing great support and empathy.

    Keely

  • Sally, Kaiden & Tiah

Thank you for all your hard work throughout the years with Tiah and Kaiden – an end to one chapter, another one begins – Thank you again!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all at La Petite for providing what I would describe as the highest quality of childcare available. Jake has thoroughly enjoyed his time at the nursery and it has done wonders for his development. From a parents perspective I have to say I’ve always felt at ease leaving Jake in the mornings knowing that he will be safe and cared for.

Jake settled in at La Petite far quicker that I expected him to and I truly believe that it was down to the fantastic team that you have on board. The team have supported Jake through several milestones such as potty training, being able to use a knife and fork, dressing himself, more recently encouraging him to sleep in his own bed. There are many more examples evident through his learning journal that both Bonnie Parker and Stephanie Barton have put in a tremendous amount of effort into. This is in contrast to the more simplistic things that make a real difference such as a hand to the car and a phone call during the day to assure me that Jake’s ok when expressing a concern during a morning drop off.

I would like to say a special thank you to Jake’s key workers Stephanie Barton and Bonnie Parker who I felt have provided both myself as a parent and Jake as a pupil an immense amount of support and attention during his time at La Petite.

That just leaves me to say I wish the team every success in the future and once again thanks for making Jake’s time at the nursery so fun and enjoyable.

I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to you and all your wonderful, polite, pleasant and hardworking staff, for giving my little Tia a wonderful start in life. Thank you for turning my baby, as she was when she started, into a bright, clever little girl who is ready for school.

Each and every member deserves a gold medal. I always left Tia and went to work without a worry or concern, as I knew she would be well looked after.

I would recommend La Petite Academy to any parent. I wish you all success in the future. Keep up the fantastic work.

    RK Schal
