Every month we hold an ‘event’ day at nursery - this could be anything from celebrating a festival such as Christmas or Diwali or just a fun day such as Snow White & The Seven Dwarves or Nursery Rhyme Day.
The whole nursery is decorated and the activities are themed throughout the day. Most of the days involve optional dressing up - we will normally guide you so that it doesn’t become complicated or expensive. The staff dress up on the day too and the nursery food is often themed accordingly.
Some of the occasions might be Grandparents week - where we invite grandparents in every morning for a week to share creative time with their grandchild. We are also holding ‘Daddy week’ where dad’s can pop in to nursery for an hour to take part in activities with their child.
We celebrate Easter by having an Easter Bonnet Parade, May Day with traditional dancing around a pole, Diwali by dressing up in colourful suits and at Christmas, the preschool children take part in a very special traditional Nativity Play which is performed for parents.
We also have a special visitor to the nursery over the Christmas period who gives out presents to all children - normally on Christmas Party Day. Each year we invite parents to make suggestions to our event days at nursery so that they are varied from year to year.
